A White Magical World – Winter Sport in the Nature Park Region of Reutte
A white snowy landscape, a brilliant blue sky, the first fine rays of the winter sun. After an ample breakfast the skier can start directly from the Singer Mountain Hut or the Cilli Hut on the freshly prepared, from easy to difficult pistes of the 1,938 metre high Hahnenkamm mountain. Soon other skiers and snowboarders arrive on the first cable car from Reutte. On the easy slopes you can see the little ones trying out their skis for the first time. On the more difficult slopes you can see the local skiing schools with their pupils.
At midday it becomes a little quieter on the slopes. The winter sports enthusiasts are fortifying themselves in the Cilli Hut or the panorama restaurant, enjoying Tyrolean specialities and a drink to warm themselves up. The umbrella bar awaits the guests who want to end a wonderful day’s skiing in a festive atmosphere with après ski music.
But in the valleys of the Nature Park Region of Reutte too the winter sports enthusiast can enjoy the magic of the white winter world. On 120 kilometres of well-prepared cross-country tracks (‘Loipen‘) the circuits can be combined in a manner of ways depending on the condition and aptitude of the skier. And should you run out of puff, you can travel back by bus, as with your Active Card you can use the buses of the region free of charge.
For those devoted to hiking there are numerous winter hiking trails in the Nature Park Region of Reutte, which go round lakes and along the partly frozen streams, through the snow-covered forests and which lead to huts where food and drink are served. Torch-lit guided tours offer a further real adventure. Should you wish not only to walk up the snowy slopes but ski down them, there are special ski tour evenings for ski tourers.
